Mama's Puerto Rican Rice and Beans - print recipe
 
   
 
Yield:
Ingredients:
 
2 can Kidney beans
1 sm can Tomato sauce
1 env "Sazon" seasoning
1   branch Cilantro, chopped
1 sm Potato
8   Olives, green
1 sm cube Ham, diced
20 ml Olive oil
1 1/2 tsp Salt
3 cup Rice, cooked
Method:
In saucepan, heat olive oil. Add all seasonings except tomato sauce and beans. Saute for about 3 minutes. Add tomato sauce and saute about 1 more minute. Add undrained beans from can. Add water to cover, about 1 can. Simmer on medium to low for about 20 minutes, stirring to keep from burning. Cook until sauce thickens.



Serve over rice.



Sazon is found in the ethnic food section. Any product named "Sofrito" can be substituted.
