Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add egg, water, and extract, mixing lightly with fork until dough forms a ball. Chill 1/4 of the dough. Press remaining dough on bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of a 9 inch spring form pan. Spread dough with preserves. On lightly floured surface, roll chilled dough into a rectangle, 1/8 inch thick; cut into 1/2 inch wide strips. Place strips diagonally over preserves to form lattice; press edges to seal. Bake in 350 degree F. oven 35 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Loosen crust from rim of pan; cool before removing rim of pan.
