Spicy Green Beans - print recipe
 
   
 
Yield:
Ingredients:
 
750 gm young green beans
1/4 cup vegetable oil
2   cloved garlic crushed
1 med red onion finely chopped
1 sm red chilli finely chopped
2/3 cup hot water
    Wash beans drain and dry on absorbent paper.
    Top and tail.
    Heat oil in large frying pan.
Method:
Add garlic and onion and cook until golden and glossy in appearance.



Add tomatoes and chill) and cook for 2 minutes more.



Add whole green beans and stir fry over high heat for 3 minutes.



Add hot water and simmer 10 minutes or until beans are just tender.



Do not over cook.



Serve hot.



Hint. Red onions are also called Spanish onions. They are crisp and sweet and wonderful to use in salads. In some vegetable shops it is possible to buy very small green beans packed m 250 g amounts.
